Frequently, patients and family members can be in a state of shock after receiving this ‘shocking’ news of a cancer diagnosis. Very often this is unexpected news and can have a lasting effect both to the patient and various members of their family. One can be frozen from the shock of hearing the diagnosis.
The Sligo Cancer Support Centre is a welcoming, peaceful space to come into, at Wine Street, Sligo. Sometimes patients and their family members do not have anywhere to turn during this difficult time. The ethos of this centre is to give support, hope and peace. Support can be in the form of offering a therapy, lend a listening ear, have a chat over a cup of tea in the comfort of this calm peaceful space at Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
One of the therapies offered at Sligo Cancer Support Centre is biodynamic therapy. When a client avails of this wonderful therapy at the centre, arriving for their first session they realise that they have a place to come to where they can speak openly in a private, relaxed space. Where there is time to be listened to and to be heard by the therapist.
A client can speak about what is on his/her mind, knowing that this is a confidential space. Sometimes it can be good to speak to another, without burdening a family member or worrying a spouse, son, daughter, sibling or parent in the knowledge that this is a safe space. As part of the therapy session the client can avail of a gentle relaxing massage allowing anxieties and worries to float away. This is a very gentle, effective treatment that can empower each one of us to carry on with our lives and to eliminate the shock of the diagnosis from our cells and tissues.
If you or a loved one has a cancer diagnosis please consider having a biodynamic treatment to help eliminate the shock and allow the healing process to begin at Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
